“SAY HER NAME” DIRECTED + EDITED BY ME
What a time to be alive—to work with artists of Zeitgeist. A true honor to work with @ink_prod on his KAF24 film entitled, “SAY HER NAME”. Donte is honestly one of the kindest souls I’ve met and his talent is mind-blowing. To watch him, even between takes, and how swept up in his craft he is… in those moments of reset, he was in his head, creating. Let’s do it, again, Ink.
@therealjimel is one of the most talented photographers I know; his images are the “in between”— meaning, the middle of movement, in the midst of story [I said this to a dear friend last night about Hugh Bell’s work]. I asked Jimel to be cinematographer for this + he was excited to work with me. We had an amazing time on set.
I’ve said it before— last year was revelation for me. Meeting and collaborating with amazing artists has been incredible + a gift. Blessed; WAY UP.
Shout out to @iamethanmarc for allowing us to film in his studio + for making a cameo.
Special thanks to @kresgeartsdetroit for inviting me and trusting me to be a filmmaker every year with #donaldharrison of #7cylindersstudio as film series producer.
Enjoy this fav film of mine for years to come. Let the truth of it activate you.
